The City of Nevada is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $39,833.

Firefighters perform skilled work in fire suppression, emergency medical services, and rescue operations to protect life, property, and the environment. Qualifications

• Missouri-certified Firefighter I and II (or equivalent IFSAC/ProBoard certification).
• Hazardous Materials Operations and Awareness certified.
• Licensed as an EMT, National-Registered EMT, or Emergency Medical Responder.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, medical emergencies, hazardous conditions, and accidents.
• Operate firefighting and rescue equipment, apparatus, and emergency vehicles.
• Provide patient assessment, treatment, stabilization, and documentation.
• Maintain apparatus and facilities, participate in training and fire prevention/public education efforts.
• Adhere to department rules, NFPA standards, and applicable regulations.
• Demonstrate teamwork, clear communication, and public interaction during emergencies.
• Adapt to extended shifts up to 24 hours or longer, weekends and holidays.
