Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Firefighter-EMT in Peoria, IL. The role focuses on safety and security, deterring crime, and reporting hazards at client sites. You must hold EMT certification, CPR/AED, and be able to perform firefighting duties with SCBA equipment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
• Health License as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher
• Must have current CPR/AED Certification
• Must pass physical and Fit Test required for SCBA
• Must obtain and maintain annual Hazardous Materials Technician Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120)
• Must obtain and maintain annual Confined Space and Rope Rescue Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146)
• As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen
• Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Driving Positions: valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and appropriate insurance
• Have intermediate computer skills to operate wireless technology at client sites
• Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
• Safely respond to emergency incidents, fight fires, and administer BLS
• Able to perform firefighting duties including hose lines, SCBA, power tools, ladders

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of the facilities you protect
• Act as a visible deterrent to crime and rule infractions
• Detect and report suspicious or unsafe acts at or near posts
• Respond to emergency incidents and provide basic life support
• Operate firefighting equipment and tools as trained
• Comply with background checks and drug screening requirements
