Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a ten year driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment medical examination including drug screen, fingerprint, background, and references.
• Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the United States.
• Licensure as EMR, EMT or Paramedic by SC EMS.

Responsibilities

• Responds to fire, EMS, and other emergencies; extinguishes fires and performs rescue.
• Operates firefighting equipment and conducts vehicle and scene safety checks.
• Participates in training and maintains certifications.
• Conducts public education and station visits when needed.
• Maintains records, reports, and inventory; communicates status via radio.
