Job summary

Doña Ana County seeks Firefighter EMT professionals to respond to fires and medical emergencies, provide care, and operate firefighting equipment. The role requires successful completion of the Dona Ana County Fire Academy and various certifications within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Volunteer or paid firefighter experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must obtain NM EMT-Basic license within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and perform fire suppression duties, including hose handling, ladder work, and entry.
• Provide emergency medical care, assess patients, monitor vital signs, and perform CPR/AED as needed.
• Maintain equipment and station facilities, perform routine maintenance, and manage records.
• Participate in technical rescues and required trainings.
