Job summary

The City of Greenacres Fire Rescue seeks a Firefighter/EMT to protect lives and property through fire suppression, prevention, and basic life support. The role requires a valid Florida EMT or Paramedic certificate, Firefighter II certification, and a Florida driver's license.

The department operates a Spartan Schedule with a 42-hour work week (24/48, 24/96) and offers competitive pay of $62,992.65 annually ($28.84 hourly), with the 10/1/2026 rate pending ratification of the Collective Bargaining

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or Florida GED.
• Florida EMT or Paramedic certification required.
• Firefighter II certification and valid CPR at Health Care Provider level.
• EVOC and Florida driver’s license required.
• Must reside in Florida and be eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls; provide EMS care.
• Extinguish fires and perform rescue operations as directed.
• Operate extrication and immobilization equipment.
• Transport patients to hospitals and maintain equipment.
• Perform maintenance tests on equipment and maintain records.
