Job summary

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY in Florida is seeking a full-time public safety professional to join the Fire/EMS program. The role covers fire suppression, prevention and emergency medical services, working in a 56-hour week schedule.

The position requires EMT certification, Florida Firefighter certification, ACLS and CPR instruction, plus a high school diploma and a valid Florida driver’s license. The role is based in the County Public Safety Department.

Qualifications

• EMT certification is required.
• Firefighter certification as authorized by F.S.S. 633 is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire suppression and prevention services.
• Respond to medical emergencies as part of EMS operations.

Job description

Full-time - $50,852.01 including FLSA overtime; Pay will be $17.01 per hour; 56-hour work week.

Skilled technical work in the County Public Safety Department in the field of fire suppression, prevention and emergency medical services.

Requirements

• meets requirements of Florida Administrative Rules 10D66 and 4A
• possess State of EMT Certification, State of Florida Firefighter Certification as authorized by F.S.S. 633 and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and CPR instruction certifications,
• possess a High School Diploma or acceptable equivalency.
• possess a valid Florida Driver's License (Class E or higher). Employee must maintain a Class E License without any restrictions on performance throughout employment.
