The City of Gastonia is seeking a dedicated firefighter to perform protective service work in fire suppression under close supervision. You will respond to emergencies, lay hose lines, ventilate buildings, and assist in medical life support while maintaining equipment and preparing sites.

Applicants must meet state requirements, possess a valid driver's license, and complete required certifications within specified timeframes.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED with college-equivalent coursework.
• Three months of firefighter training or related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

• Responds to emergency incidents with an engine, ladder or rescue company.
• Lays hose lines, directs water streams, climbs ladders, and performs rescues.
• Performs salvage operations and provides initial medical care and life support.
