City of Brenham, TX is seeking a Firefighter to respond to emergencies, operate and maintain fire suppression vehicles and equipment, participate in training, and assist with department administrative duties.

Starting pay is $16.52 per hour based on 2912 annual hours; residency may be required for timely response. Applicants must attach TCFP firefighter certification and EMR, plus a Class B driver’s license within six months of hire.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic firefighter certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) and Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification.
• Valid Class B Texas driver’s license within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to fire, hazmat, and technical rescue incidents.
• Lay and connect hose, operate equipment at fire scenes.
• Perform firefighting and rescue operations, overhauls, and searches for victims.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of department facilities, apparatus, and equipment.
• Assist in fire prevention tasks, inspections, and public education on fire safety.
• Operate and maintain PPE and specialized equipment.
• Operate radios and CAD systems and report incidents.
• Participate in drills and training sessions across firefighting disciplines.
• Test pumps, hoses, hydrants and other emergency equipment.
• Assist with department administrative duties and reporting.
• Conduct station tours for groups; build community relations.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
