Port Huron Fire Department is seeking a dedicated Fire Fighter to perform firefighting, rescue, EMS, and station maintenance duties. You will respond to alarms, operate pumps and equipment, and assist in fire prevention inspections.

Ideal candidates hold MFTTC Fire Fighter II, EMT-Basic or higher, and HazMat Ops; must have a valid Michigan driver’s license and be 18+. The role requires a 24-hour shift rotation with comprehensive benefits included.

Formación

• Must possess MFTTC Fire Fighter II.
• EMT-Basic certification or higher required.
• Hazardous Materials Operations Level certification or higher required.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license required.
• Age 18+ and no felony convictions.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to fire alarms with fire company, connect and control hose lines and nozzles, erect ladders, turn water on or off and use extinguishers, axes, hooks and lifelines.
• Operate firefighting apparatus, pumps and other auxiliary fire equipment.
• Respond to emergency calls removing persons from danger and applying medical techniques for life-threatening injuries.
• Respond to rescue calls, operate auxiliary power equipment and deploy rescue boats and gear during search and rescue.
• Perform general maintenance at the fire station, clean and wash walls, groundskeeping and minor repairs.
• Wash, hang and dry hose; wash, clean and polish fire apparatus.
• Prepare meals and participate in drills and training functions.
