Job summary

Rural King Farm and Home Store in Ohio is seeking a firearms sales associate dedicated to safety, compliance, and customer service. You will greet customers, assess their needs, and offer product recommendations while ensuring adherence to firearms laws and store SOPs.

The role includes handling ammunition purchases, processing transactions, and maintaining an orderly display. You will participate in training programs, contribute to a positive team environment, and help grow repeat business

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; firearms safety training is a plus.
• Previous experience in firearms sales is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local firearms laws and transfers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer engagement.
• Attention to detail, organization, and accurate documentation.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain safety in a busy store environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming shopping experience.
• Guide customers with unbiased product recommendations based on needs.
• Ensure compliance with firearms laws and SOPs; complete required training.
• Assist customers with ammunition, accessories, and related products.
• Maintain firearms display areas, pricing, and labeling.
• Process transactions accurately and use upselling/cross-selling techniques.
• Operate the POS register and handle returns and special orders.
• Support visual merchandising and maintain a clean, safe sales floor.
• Participate in cross-training and training programs to grow skills.
• Provide friendly internal and external support and uphold Rural King values.
