At Heiman Fire Equipment, we take pride in creating custom-built fire trucks and providing the best equipment in the fire industry for each department we serve. We are looking to hire a Fire Truck Assembler responsible for assembling various parts for our fire trucks.

Responsibilities

• Position and fasten together custom assemblies related to firefighting.
• Bolt, screw, clip, or otherwise fasten custom parts including mounting steps, handrails, lighting options, cabinetry, or other related items.
• Install custom fire truck accessories according to customer specifications.
• Cut and bend metal trim to specified size and configuration using tools and machines.
• Perform basic electrical work related to firefighting.
• Sand, grind, or prepare surfaces.
• Clean and detail equipment prior to customer inspection.
• Test equipment used with firefighting apparatus.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with autobody repair or automotive body shop preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Auto Body repair or related area preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Strong mathematical skills.
