Position Summary
The faculty member shall be responsible for the following:coordination of instructional programs and/or teaching assignedclasses under the supervision of the area dean; helping studentsfulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content;assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough andup-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field; continuingprofessional development; utilizing current technology in theperformance of job duties; maintaining standards of professionalconduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position;assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review;serving on college committees and participating in facultygovernance including accreditation and student co-curricularactivities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the areadean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of a full-timefaculty member.
Position Salary Information
Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree,upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professionaloccupational experience per the Los Rios College Federation of TeachersContract (the initial maximum placement is Class V, Step8). Typical Duties
Coordinator duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Dean/Associate Dean in developing, evaluating andimplementing the Fire Technology and Sacramento Regional Public Safety Training Center (SRPSTC) training programs.
- Adhering to the standards of the Office of the State Fire Marshal, California State Fire Training.
- Program and course planning, organizing, scheduling,certification, and preparing, reviewing, and tracking studenttesting procedures.
- Assisting with articulation and developing, reviewing,revising, and improving curricula.
- Maintaining program documentation and preparing Career and Technical Education (CTE) reports.
- Administering program budgets, equipment and supplies with theability to forecast department needs and establish goals andobjectives.
- Preparing Perkins and Strong Workforce reporting.
- Facilitating SRPSTC Accredited Regional Training Program (ARTP)certifications
- Supporting instructional quality, program continuity, andcompliance with state regulatory agencies.
- Developing and participating in a robust Fire TechnologyAdvisory Committee to assure the curriculum meets the needs of theindustry, certification and the community.
- Participating in hiring committees.
- Onboarding and orienting of new Fire Technology faculty totheir assignment and obligations.
- Serving as a resource for Fire Technology faculty.
- Participating in peer review teams.
- Participating in program reviews and annual unit plans.
- Participating in professional activities.
- Coordinating with other Fire Technology faculty in the collegesystem on class schedules, student learning outcomes, and programassessment.
- Collaborating with various public service entities and othercollege programs regarding academic and career pathways.
- Utilizing technology, including computers, computer software,internet, email and multimedia.
- Assessing student learning outcomes and completing programreview.
- Remaining current in the subject area and in the techniques ofeffective instruction.
- Representing the Fire Technology program at variouscampus/off-campus events.
- Supporting the Mission and Vision of America River College to“transform the future of all students and our community throughinclusive, equitable education Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Have a bachelor’s degree or higher and two years ofprofessional experience; OR, any associate degree andsix years of professional experience; OR the equivalent* .All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed bytime of hire. All degrees must be from an accredited institution,completed by January 1, 2027. NOTE: Professionalexperience must be directly related to the assignment beingtaught.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with a Californiarecognized fire agency.
- Possession of a California Fire Fighter 1 and Fire Fighter 2certification.
