Fire Systems Technician - FT/Days - University Hospital

Overview

Troubleshoots, maintains, tests, and repairs fire detection and suppression equipment. Follows appropriate preventative maintenance schedules to ensure proper maintenance and maximum lifespan of the equipment. Reports problems through the work order system and suggests solutions to systems and equipment. May participate in planning and executing remodeling and construction projects. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • NICET certification preferred.
  • General knowledge of electrical systems and equipment repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local, OSHA, and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Experience working with electronic fire protection and sprinkler systems in a commercial or construction environment.
