Job summary

Wiginton Fire Systems is seeking a qualified Pre-Engineered & Extinguisher Technician for our Fort Myers, Florida office. This role performs inspections, testing, maintenance, repairs, and installations on pre-engineered fire suppression systems and portable extinguishers in accordance with NFPA standards.

You will work in the field, coordinate with customers and branch personnel, and ensure safety compliance while delivering professional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Florida Pre-Engineered Suppression System Permit.
• Florida Fire Extinguisher Permit.
• Minimum 4 years of related industry experience; NFPA 10, 17, 17A, 96 knowledge.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, repairs, and installations on pre-engineered fire suppression systems and portable extinguishers.
• Inspect, service, recharge, and maintain portable extinguishers per NFPA 10 (annual, six-year maintenance, hydrostatic tests).
• Review building layouts to determine extinguisher placement and code compliance.
• Complete inspection and deficiency reports and service documentation accurately.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of inspections and service calls; maintain vehicle and equipment.
• Communicate status, deficiencies, and recommendations with customers and branch personnel; maintain certifications and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
