Job summary

A leading fire safety provider is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Technician in Oklahoma City. The role involves installing pipe systems, mentoring apprentices, and ensuring safety compliance. Candidates must have a high school diploma, relevant work experience, and a fire sprinkler license. This position requires physical capability, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards, including handling potential hazardous environments.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience installing pipe systems and valves, required.

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Overview

Fire Sprinkler Technician role at Summit Fire & Security.

Responsibilities

• Install pipe systems and valves
• Cut, thread, assemble and bond piping and tubes according to specifications
• Modify, clean and maintain pipe systems, units and fittings
• Remove and replace worn components
• Follow blueprints to meet product specifications
• Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
• Mentor and coach Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices and Helpers on proper installation techniques
• Ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained in accordance with company policies
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications.

Education, Training, Certifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent, required
• Advanced technical school training or related work experience, preferred
• Current Fire Sprinkler License, required

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience installing pipe systems and valves, required; 5+ years’ experience preferred
• Must be able to work alone and as part of a team; basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem solving, customer service, decision making, multitasking, ability to meet project schedules, planning and organizing, troubleshooting, and training others as required

Communication Skills

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers

Systems And Software Skills

• Ability to operate a computer/tablet and read electronic blueprints; experience with SalesForce and Microsoft Office preferred

Other Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Must comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and background screening requirements, which may include customer-specific requirements
