Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a sprinkler installer/foreman in Chantilly, VA to lead the installation of fire protection piping and sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial settings. The role requires overseeing small crews, maintaining safety and documentation, and mentoring apprentices.

The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems, ability to read blueprints, and a strong team orientation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in installation and service of fire sprinkler systems.
• Experience installing fire pumps.
• Experience reading blueprints.
• Must be able to work alternate shifts or weekends.
• Capable of performing physical labor.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Install wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge sprinkler systems as foreman.
• Oversee small crews and provide guidance to apprentices.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed.
• Provide verbal and written instructions to apprentices and team members.
• Carry/move equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
• Perform physical labor in ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and adhere to safety policies.

What you will do

Perform the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial application. Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer and/or job requirements. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.

How you will do it

• As sprinkler installer/foreman, you will efficiently and neatly perform the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• You will oversee small crews.
• You will maintain proper documentation for work performed and must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• In this position you will be provided verbal and written instructions, as well as provide verbal and written instructions to apprentices.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs.
• Capable of performing physical labor; perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• You will have a positive attitude and the ability to adapt quickly.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29-41 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
