Job summary

Johnson Controls sprinkler installer role in Chantilly, VA, performing installation of wet, dry, pre-action and deluge sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial applications.

Must be able to work shifts or weekends as needed, lift up to 70 lbs, and follow safety policies. You'll document work and guide apprentices, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and safe operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in installation and service of fire sprinkler systems.
• Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
• Capable of performing physical labor and lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems for commercial/industrial sites.
• Perform installations safe, neat, and within scope of work.
• Maintain documentation for work performed and adhere to safety policies.
• Provide verbal and written guidance to apprentices as needed.
• Carry/move equipment up to 70 lbs and work in ladders/scaffolding/high lift positions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and adapt quickly to changes.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and cooperative approach.

What you will do
Perform the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial application. Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer and/or job requirements. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.

How you will do it

• As sprinkler installer, you will efficiently and neatly perform the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• You will maintain proper documentation for work performed and must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• In this position you will be provided verbal and written instructions, as well as provide verbal and written instructions to apprentices.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs.
• Capable of performing physical labor; perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• You will have a positive attitude and the ability to adapt quickly.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29-41 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
