Job summary

Fire Fighter Sales & Service Co. is seeking a Sprinkler Designer I to plan and lay out fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA codes and standards.

Using drawings, you will develop detailed designs and hydraulic calculations for submission to authorities. You will coordinate with structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical teams, perform field checks, and prepare as-built drawings and an O&M manual for client turnover.

Qualifications

• Education: AS or BS in engineering, drafting, fire protection tech or equivalent.
• Experience: 2–5 years in fire sprinkler design preferred.
• Certifications: NICET II in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout fire sprinkler systems using HydraCAD and related software.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, applying NFPA codes for compliant designs.
• Coordinate piping layouts with structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure proper system function and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct hydrostatic flow tests to verify water supply and system adequacy.
• On-site field checks to verify dimensions and conformance to design specs.
• Prepare material lists and manage procurement to support timely installations.
• Participate in project management, attend site meetings, monitor schedules and budgets.
• Compile as-built drawings and an O&M manual for client turnover.
