Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler System Designer. This role focuses on NFPA 13, 14, 20 & 24 compliance, coordination with estimating, project management, field, and fabrication teams.

The designer will read construction documents, draft detailed drawings using HydraCAD, and use BIM to place systems on engineered drawings. Field surveys and hydraulic calculations support fabrication and cost control.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of fire protection system layout and calculation experience.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• NFPA 13, 14, 20 & 24 knowledge and code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction documents and plans.
• Fire sprinkler design of automatic fire systems, including pumps and various systems.
• Create detailed drawings with HydraCAD and BIM on engineered drawings.
• Conduct field surveys and assist field personnel with design issues.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and prepare stock lists for fabrication.
• Coordinate pre-construction with other trades and ensure compliance with codes.
