Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician in Chesapeake, VA. You will inspect, test, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems to ensure safety and compliance. You will work with clients, contractors, and regulators to address issues and keep systems running smoothly.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, reporting findings, testing components, and performing maintenance. A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is offered for qualified technicians.

Qualifications

• Must be able to inspect and test fire sprinkler systems following NFPA 25 guidelines.
• Strong ability to document findings, tests and deficiencies clearly.
• Capable of communicating with clients and contractors professionally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and testing of wet, dry and pre-action systems per NFPA 25.
• Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings and deficiencies.
• Test and evaluate system functionality of sprinkler heads, valves, piping, pumps, and control systems.
• Inspect piping and connections for corrosion, leaks or damage; propose repairs.
• Perform maintenance: replace components, clean pipes and heads, lubricate parts, adjust settings.
• Inspect fire pump assemblies and test flow rates and pressures.
• Respond to service calls and emergencies to restore functionality.
• Document all service activities in the Company’s Service Trade platform.
• Work with Deficiency Sellers to prepare repair estimates and with Service Coordinators to optimize orders.
• Schedule work with clients, discuss findings, and recommend upgrades.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety protocols.
