Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician 5 to join our team in Livermore, CA. You will receive service calls, assess problems, and perform repairs on sprinkler systems across commercial and industrial sites.

Strong troubleshooting, blueprint-reading, and customer service skills are essential. This role requires 5 years of field experience in fire sprinkler systems and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to sprinkler and suppression systems.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

What You Will Do

Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions. Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems. Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial applications. These include but are not limited to wet (steel, copper and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge and fire pumps.

How You Will Do It
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. in order to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, with strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Must have the ability to work alone.
Required
  • What we look for
  • 5 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems
  • Retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.
  • Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Must adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Must be able to follow, read and understand all safety requirement of the company and the customer
HIRING HOURLY RANGE:

$36.44 - $50.14 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
