Job summary

Johnson Controls in Aurora, CO is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician 5 to service and repair fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial settings. You will receive service calls, diagnose issues, read blueprints, and perform repairs on wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps with strong customer service focus.

This role requires 5 years of sprinkler industry experience, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and comfortable working at heights.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry.
  • Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Must adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet.
  • Must be able to follow, read and understand all safety requirement of the company and the customer.

  • Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial applications.
  • These include but are not limited to wet (steel, copper and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge and fire pumps.
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, with strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
  • Must have the ability to work alone.

What You Will Do

  • Must have the ability to work alone.
Required
What we look for
  • 5 years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair to Sprinkler and Suppression systems
  • Retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.
  • Must maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Must adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Must be able to follow, read and understand all safety requirement of the company and the customer

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29.66 - $40.42 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
