Job summary

Jet Industries, Inc. is seeking an Apprentice to support the Fire safety division on basic piping installation. You will assist fitters and foremen, layout and prepare installations, and help ensure safety compliance on-site.

You will learn to read blueprints, understand fire sprinkler components, and work with steel and CPVC piping while staying organized and detail-oriented in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and organization.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and stock lists.
  • Reliable transportation required and on-site communication.
  • Willingness to learn about fire sprinkler systems and codes.
  • High level of precision workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Experience with steel piping (cutting, threading, grooving).
  • CPVC experience including cut, ream, weld, hang CPVC pipe.
  • Basic proficiency in English for safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Layout product for installation and stage tools for piping jobs.
  • Read and interpret fire sprinkler blueprints.
  • Apply safety measures during installation of fire safety systems.
  • Measure, mark, cut, and thread pipe for installation.
  • Connect fittings and sprinkler heads and test for leaks.
  • Keep up-to-date with NFPA fire sprinkler codes.
  • Document all details of work.

Job Summary

The Apprentice supports the division in the Fire safety in buildings is one of their most important security and safety measures. A fire sprinkler fitter installs the piping system and accessories such as hangers, pipe, sprinklers, seismic restraints, and valves to complete the fire sprinkler system. The apprentice assists the fitter or foreman.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Layout product for installation, stage tools, and execute basic piping installation jobs
  • Read and understand fire sprinkler blueprints
  • Employ safety measures while installing a fire safety system
  • Perform tasks; measuring, marking, cutting, threading pipe for installation
  • Connect fittings and sprinkler heads to pipe, then test the system to ensure there are no leaks
  • Keep abreast with the latest developments in fire sprinklers, NFPA fire sprinkler codes
  • Document all details of work
Required Qualifications / Skills
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Must be highly organized, systematic, and adherent to construction deadlines.
  • Steel experience, including cutting, threading, and grooving black steel pipe
  • CPVC experience, including cutting, reaming, welding, and hanging CPVC pipe.
  • Basic Proficiency in English required. Candidates must have a basic understanding of English for safety purposes and to effectively communicate with colleagues, vendors, and contractors on-site. The ability to follow instructions and engage with the team is essential for success in this role.
