Job summary

Century Fire Protection is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector to inspect, test, and service sprinkler systems in the Hickory, NC area. You will identify deficiencies and help ensure systems are ready when needed most.

You will read blueprints, test for leaks, document service activities, and coordinate with the team to address deficiencies. A high school diploma or GED and 2–3 years of inspection experience are required, with NFPA knowledge and NICET/Backflow preferences noted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of experience inspecting fire sprinkler systems or equivalent.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards for inspection, testing and installation.
• NICET II or III certification preferred.
• Backflow certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Clean MVR required.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Perform inspections, testing, servicing, installation, and preventative maintenance of water-based and sprinkler systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and fire codes.
• Test systems for leaks using air and liquid pressure equipment.
• Identify deficiencies and complete detailed service documentation.
• Coordinate inspection deficiencies with the service needed to correct them.
• Communicate with the Service Manager and Inspections Coordinator regarding job status, delays, and requirements.
• Help ensure customers receive work according to the proposed scope.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of experience inspecting various fire sprinkler systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards for inspection, testing, and installation.
• NICET II or III certification preferred.
• Backflow certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
• Clean MVR required.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
