Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced fire sprinkler technician in the United States to inspect, test, and maintain sprinkler systems. You will diagnose deficiencies, adhere to NFPA standards, and complete precise inspection reports.

Travel to job sites is required, and you will mentor entry-level technicians as part of a collaborative team. Requirements include a high school diploma, a state inspection license, and 5+ years in the field; NICET II+ is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in fire and life safety as a technician.
• Must have state inspection license.
• NICET Level II or above preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, codes, and inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Complete required documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Guide and support entry-level technicians and apprentices.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• Must have state inspection license.
• NICET Level II or above preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, codes, and inspection procedures.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license (if driving is required).

Other Duties:

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
• Performs other duties assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
