Job summary
Impact Fire Services is seeking a trainee helper to learn the mechanics of sprinkler system installation. You will assist in inspection, service, installation, and maintenance on commercial sprinkler systems under the guidance of a Sprinkler Fitter.
The role involves site cleanup, unloading, staging, and material distribution, and cutting and threading pipe as needed. You will learn applicable fire protection codes, work toward state licensing, and support in maintaining a safe work environment
Qualifications
- Follow verbal work instructions and directions.
- Capable of working independently with moderate supervision.
- Able to work in a team under time pressure.
- Willingness to learn installation, inspection and servicing codes.
- Physically capable as per requirements.
- Valid driver's license and driving record.
- Able to pass pre-employment background, MVR and drug test.
- Experience in fire protection or commercial customer service is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of pipe fitting or electrical work is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Fitter to complete tasks on site in a timely, effective manner.
- Learn applicable fire protection codes and obtain applicable state licensing.
- Protect and maintain company equipment.
- Work safely per company safety procedures and policies.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean, organized manner.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Fitter or Manager.
