Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced installer to support fire sprinkler systems in Tallahassee, FL. You will read blueprints, use installation tools, and ensure NFPA compliance while working with customers and a local team.

Required: high school diploma and 2+ years in fire and life safety; NICET I+ preferred; clean driving record if driving is required. Weekly pay and a company vehicle are provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years' experience in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I+ preferred; strong understanding of fire sprinkler installation.

Responsibilities

• Install fire sprinkler systems per project specs.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Use hand tools and installation equipment to complete tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Complete documentation and installation reports accurately and timely.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.

Education

2+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician

NICET Level I or above preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Independently perform installation of fire sprinkler systems.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for installation projects.
• Use hand tools and installation equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and installation reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler system installation practices.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Other Duties

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
• Performs other duties assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.

Pay

• $18 to $27 depending on fire sprinkler experience.
• Weekly pay.
