Overview

Position Summary

Plan, layout, assemble, and install fire sprinkler piping and related materials to the specifications of engineering/design, architectural, and structural blueprints.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Read and interpret engineering/design, architectural, and structural blueprints and plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications
• Select pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports and hangers, for layout and installation
• Perform cutting, fitting, and pipe connection using threaded, soldered, brazed, or grooved joints and utilizing a variety of hand tools
• Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipe lines, using pressure gauge, observation, or other methods
• Install hydraulic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps
• Complete required paperwork/reports on each job including daily time, progress, duration, record of parts, material, labor, subs, returns, and other cost data per assignment

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
