Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Estimator to join our Fire Protection Services Team.

You will develop detailed cost estimates for fire protection systems and support the preparation of complete cost deliverables. Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, 2+ years of fire sprinkler estimating/design using CAD, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of fire sprinkler cost estimating or design using a CAD based program.
Strong knowledge of construction practices, cost drivers, and project delivery methods.
Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed cost estimates for fire sprinkler and fire protection system projects.
Validate pricing, assemble estimate packages, and support complete cost deliverables.
Apply estimating and quantification tools (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff) to produce accurate results.
Identify quantity discrepancies and pricing concerns, providing recommendations to senior staff.
Research material pricing and market trends to strengthen estimate accuracy.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical teams to align estimates with project scope.
Prepare fire sprinkler proposals for presentation to clients.
