Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Estimator to analyze project specs, blueprints, and NFPA standards to produce accurate cost estimates for new, added, or upgraded fire sprinkler systems. The role requires strong math, reading plans, and communication with clients, vendors, and project teams.

Experience in GOVT new construction projects is highly preferred; CFPS/NICET certifications are a plus, and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience designing or estimating fire sprinkler systems, with 5+ years' experience preferred.
• CFPS certification is a plus.
• NICET certifications in fire sprinkler systems or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with NFPA Code and ability to read, interpret NFPA standards.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel overnight occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specs, and drawings to assess sprinkler scope.
• Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs for projects.
• Prepare detailed proposals with labor, materials, and timeline estimates.
• Identify components, pipe sizes, fittings to ensure code compliance.
• Ensure designs/estimates adhere to NFPA standards and codes.
• Coordinate with suppliers for pricing and lead times.
• Communicate with clients and contractors to clarify requirements.
• Produce timely estimates according to fixed bid dates.
