Job summary

Patriot Fire Protection, Inc. is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Estimator for our Vancouver, WA office. You will turn plans into competitive bids and collaborate with designers, PMs, and field leaders to win work and set projects up for success.

Responsibilities include bid review, layouts and takeoffs, proposals, and project handoff. NICET Level II+ is preferred; full-time, in-office, with a $80k–$140k salary and incentives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fire sprinkler estimating, or 5+ years across design, install, PM, and estimating.
• NICET Level II+ in Water-Based Systems Layout.
• Full-time in-office schedule, Mon-Fri 7:00am–4:00pm.
• Drug screening and background checks after conditional offer.
• High school diploma required; related-field degree preferred.

• Review bid boards, invitations, plans and specs to qualify opportunities.
• Develop layouts and material takeoffs for all construction phases.
• Prepare clear proposals with scope narratives, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Handoff awarded work with a clear scope summary and customer expectations.
• Maintain historical cost data, labor units, and vendor quotes; compare estimates to actuals.
• Support projects through design and construction with plan review, QA, and change-order pricing.

Every sprinkler system we build starts with an estimate. As Fire Sprinkler Estimator for our Vancouver, WA office, you'll turn plans and specs into accurate, competitive bids that win work and set our projects up to succeed. You'll partner with designers, project managers, and field leaders, and you'll build relationships with the general contractors and owners who hire us. If you know sprinkler systems, enjoy the detail of a good takeoff, and like seeing a bid become a building, this role is for you.

What You'll Do:

• Bid Review and Qualification: Monitor bid boards and GC invitations; review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to qualify opportunities that fit our scope and capacity.


• Layouts and Takeoffs: Develop layouts and material takeoffs for all phases of new construction, remodels, and tenant improvements.


• Proposals: Prepare clear, competitive proposals with scope narratives, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications; submit on time and follow up with customers through award.


• Project Handoff: Hand awarded work to project management and field leadership with a clear scope summary and customer expectations.


• Cost Data and Vendor Pricing: Maintain historical cost data, labor units, and vendor and subcontractor quotes; compare estimated versus actual costs on completed jobs to sharpen future bids.


• Project Support: Support projects as needed through design and construction, including plan review, quality control, and change order pricing.

What We're Looking For:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Degree in Construction Management, Fire Protection, Engineering, or related field preferred


• Experience: 3+ years of fire sprinkler estimating, or 5+ years of combined sprinkler design, installation, project management, and estimating experience


• Certifications: NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout


• Availability: Full-time in-office, Monday through Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm


• Compliance: Drug screening and background checks will only be conducted after a conditional job offer is made. We evaluate criminal history based on its relevance to the job duties.


• Pay: $80,000 - $140,000 per year including incentive opportunities; pay depends on experience and qualifications
