Job summary

Allied Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer in Tampa, FL. You will design and layout sprinkler systems using AutoCAD-based tools, coordinate with building components, and perform hydraulic calculations to meet project requirements.

The role requires 5+ years in fire protection design, fluency with NFPA standards, and the ability to read construction documents. Occasional travel and collaboration with multiple teams are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of fire protection design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoSprink or HydraCAD is preferred.
• Must obtain and retain licenses as required by codes.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA, IBC and NEC.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout sprinkler systems using CAD software based on AutoCAD.
• Coordinate piping with other building systems; perform hydraulic calculations.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and contracts.
• Apply NFPA standards to design/layout based on building type and features.
• Review project scope with Estimation, Design Manager, and Operations Manager.
• Coordinate with AHJs, contractors and other trades; ensure materials listing and permitting.
• Participate in predesign and review meetings; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain accurate records.
• Travel as needed; work in fast-paced service/construction teams.
