Job summary

State Fire is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our in-house team in Boise. This role develops detailed design and layout drawings for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring code compliance and constructability.

You will collaborate with project managers and field teams to manage multiple projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in fire sprinkler design, strong AutoCAD proficiency, and knowledge of NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler design; NICET certification preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit or HydraCAD experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 72 standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or engineering degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations, material lists, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD or Revit.
• Review project specifications, submittals, and design criteria with project managers and clients.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure design accuracy.
• Support field installation teams with clarifications and design revisions as needed.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation for submittals and approvals.
• Participate in design review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
