Job summary

Century Fire Protection LLC is seeking an engineer/designer to create fire protection sprinkler system designs for industrial, commercial and residential applications. You will handle submittals, coordinate with field personnel, and ensure designs meet project timelines and codes.

The role requires proficiency with design software (SprinkCad/AutoCAD/HydroCAD) and strong attention to detail. NICET certification is preferred, with a pre-employment drug screen as part of the process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience.
• NICET certification is a plus.
• Experience with fire protection design software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design fire protection sprinkler systems, including pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems, with accuracy for field installation.
• Submit design plans to leadership for approval and obtain permits as required.
• Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for production.
• Design fire protection sprinkler systems within allocated hours for each job.
• Review work orders and manuals to determine critical design dimensions.
• Prepare submittal packages and correspondence to achieve design approval.
• Prepare fabrication lists and requisition materials for job.
• Perform field surveys to ensure design suitability for structure.
• Assist field personnel with design-related installation issues.
• Prepare and submit final job close-out documents after acceptance testing.

Summary

Responsible for designing fire protection systems for industrial, commercial and residential applications, completing project designs and submittals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design fire protection sprinkler systems, including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems, with accuracy and detail to enable field installation with few design errors.
• Submit design plans to proper department leadership for approval and obtain permits as required.
• Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production.
• Design fire protection sprinkler systems within allocated hours for each job.
• Review work order and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.
• Prepare submittal packages and subsequent correspondence to achieve design approval.
• Prepare fabrication lists for pipe fabrication vendor and requisition materials for job.
• Perform field surveys to ensure design is appropriate for structure.
• Assist field personnel with design related installation issues.
• Prepare and submit final job close-out documents after final acceptance testing.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. NICET Certification a plus.

Computer Skills

SprinkCad preferred, AutoCad, or HydroCAD, Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
