Job summary

Century Fire Protection LLC is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer in Hickory, NC to create detailed sprinkler designs for industrial, commercial, and residential projects. You will manage designs from concept through approval and collaborate with field teams to ensure ready-for-installation systems.

The role requires 3–6 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency with AutoSPRINK and other design tools. NICET is a plus; MS Office skills are essential.

• 3–6 years of related experience and/or training.
• NICET certification is a plus.
• Experience with AutoSPRINK, SprinkCAD, AutoCAD or HydroCAD a plus.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word & Excel).

Responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler systems, including pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
• Create accurate designs to support field installation.
• Submit designs for approval and obtain permits as required.
• Complete design calculations and keep projects within hours.
• Review work orders to determine project requirements.
• Prepare submittal packages and procurement materials.
• Conduct field surveys to verify designs fit the structure.
• Support field personnel with design-related installation issues.
• Prepare final close-out documents after acceptance testing.

Century Fire Protection is looking for an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to create accurate, detailed fire protection designs for industrial, commercial, and residential projects. You’ll take projects from design through approval and work closely with our field teams to ensure systems are ready to be installed right.

What You’ll Do

• Design fire sprinkler systems, including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
• Create accurate designs that support efficient field installation.
• Submit designs for approval and obtain permits as required.
• Complete design calculations and ensure projects stay within allocated hours.
• Review work orders and procedures to determine project requirements.
• Prepare submittal packages and correspondence needed for design approval.
• Prepare fabrication lists and requisition materials.
• Conduct field surveys to verify designs fit the structure.
• Support field personnel with design-related installation issues.
• Prepare final close-out documents following acceptance testing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–6 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NICET certification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce constructible designs.
• Experience with AutoSPRINK preferred; SprinkCAD, AutoCAD, or HydroCAD also a plus.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word and Excel.
