Job summary

Century Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Protection Designer to design sprinkler systems for diverse buildings, including industrial and commercial facilities. You will prepare submittals, assist with field surveys, and support installation teams to ensure accurate, code-compliant designs.

NICET certification is a plus; familiarity with SprinkCad, AutoCAD, or HydroCAD is preferred. This is an on-site role in the Southeast/U.S. and offers career growth within a growing firm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience or equivalent.
• NICET certification is a plus.
• Proficiency with SprinkCad, AutoCAD or HydroCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design fire protection sprinkler systems for industrial, commercial, and residential projects.
• Submit design plans for approval and obtain permits as required.
• Prepare submittal packages and fabrication lists for vendors.
• Perform field surveys to verify design adequacy for structures.
• Assist field personnel with installation issues and close out documents.

Div.3 Marianna, FLSummaryResponsible for designing fire protection systems for industrial, commercial and residential applications, completing project designs and submittals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Design fire protection sprinkler systems, including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems, with accuracy and detail to enable field installation with few design errors.Submit design plans to proper department leadership for approval and obtain permits as required.Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production.Design fire protection sprinkler systems within allocated hours for each job.Review work order and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.Prepare submittal packages and subsequent correspondence to achieve design approval.Prepare fabrication lists for pipe fabrication vendor and requisition materials for job.Perform field surveys to ensure design is appropriate for structure.Assist field personnel with design related installation issues.Prepare and submit final job close-out documents after final acceptance testing.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
