Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to prepare detailed CAD drawings and perform hydraulic calculations to support efficient installation of sprinkler systems. You will interpret construction documents, apply NFPA standards, and coordinate with field crews to ensure accurate, code-compliant designs.

The role emphasizes teamwork, mentoring, and collaboration with sales and operations to meet project delivery needs.

Qualifications

1–5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Sprinkler Design Software, and hydraulic calculation program.
NICET Level III in Water-Based Systems Layout.
Ability to interpret and apply NFPA standards for Automatic Sprinkler System Layout.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed CAD drawings for sprinkler system placement.
Interpret construction documents and architectural features for accurate design.
Apply NFPA standards to sprinkler design based on project type and features.
Design and layout sprinkler systems using CAD software on AutoCAD platform.
Coordinate piping with other building components and perform hydraulic calculations.
Conduct field checks to verify design accuracy prior to installation.
Mentor others in sprinkler design execution and knowledge sharing.
Assist sales with design estimates as needed.
