Job summary

FSS Technologies is seeking an Apprentice Sprinkler Fitter to learn under licensed journeymen, installing, modifying, and servicing fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential settings. This hands-on role is tied to a UA apprenticeship program.

You will gain practical experience on active construction sites, follow NFPA standards, and complete required classes while building a career in life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in UA or equivalent registered apprenticeship program.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
• Reliable attendance — this role requires consistent on-site presence.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the installation of sprinkler piping, heads, hangers, and related components following approved blueprints and NFPA 13/13R/13D standards.
• Cutting, threading, grooving, and joining pipe using hand and power tools.
• Helping with system testing, flushing, and inspections.
• Maintaining a clean and safe job site in compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Attending all required apprenticeship classes and completing coursework on schedule.
• Performing other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
