Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a dedicated apprentice to join our sprinkler installation team in the United States. You will assist the foreman with installing wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems and learn OSHA-compliant safety practices on active job sites.

Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and be enrolled in Grinnell's Apprenticeship Program. You will gain hands-on experience while building a strong safety-conscious foundation.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to job sites.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the apprenticeship with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist foreman in installing wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• Follow all safety policies.
• Maintain documentation for work performed.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Carry/move equipment up to 70 lbs; perform physical labor.
• Work in challenging positions (ladders, scaffolding, high lift).
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Maintain a positive attitude and quick learning ability.
• Be enrolled in Grinnell's Apprenticeship Program and meet all requirements.
