Job summary

The City of Henderson is conducting an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill four vacancies for the Fire Services Assistant (Part-Time) in the Henderson Fire Department. Under supervision, performs routine tasks while assisting in administration, training, or logistics.

The eligibility list may be used for up to one year to fill both 19-hour/week and 29-hour/week vacancies. This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, or the equivalent.
• Any training and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform satisfactorily on the job.
• Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483.
• Desirable: Enrollment in an accredited fire science program or fire science related classes.

Responsibilities

• Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of routine tasks while assisting in the administration, training, or logistics areas of the Fire Department; and performs related duties as assigned.

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill four (4) vacancies for the classification of Fire Services Assistant (Part-Time) in the Henderson Fire Department. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of routine tasks while assisting in the administration, training, or logistics areas of the Fire Department; and performs related duties as assigned.

Position Information

• This is a part-time position.
• The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill both Non-PERS eligible (19 hours/week) and PERS eligible (29 hours/week) vacancies.
• This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits.
