Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a seasoned Fire Service Technician to support field repairs, programming, and troubleshooting of life safety systems. The role entails diagnosing complex issues, reporting repairs per NFPA standards, and maintaining system integrity in customer environments.
The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in a Fire Life & Safety role, knowledge of NFPA 72, and strong laptop programming skills. OSHA 10 and NICET I are preferred; valid driver's license required.
THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician with programming, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our service team, and clients to ensure our critical life safety systems are repaired in an efficient manner to maintain their overall performance. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of system troubleshooting and repair. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both written and verbal, are important elements of the position.
Troubleshooting and repairing Fire and Life Safety systems, including conventional, addressable, voice systems, complex smoke control, and networked solutions. Use a variety of troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions. Ensure maximum system detection and alarm coverage when effecting repairs. Produce repair reports in accordance with NFPA for customer acceptance and billing information. Programming systems via laptop computers. Ensure Fire Alarm circuit integrity. Assist in managing vehicle inventory and repair tools. Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
