Sciens Building Solutions seeks an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. You will work with sales, field teams, and clients to ensure sound design, installation, and commissioning of fire alarm solutions.
This role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate across departments. Travel may be required as part of project execution; OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure a sound design, and seamless installation and commissioning of our fire alarm solutions. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important elements of the position.
Responsible for reviewing system layouts and coordinating with engineering, project management, and sales departments for successful project execution. Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity. Program and commission complex fire alarm systems leading to final acceptance by customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA. Responsible for complex troubleshooting and effective resolution. Deliver projects on schedule and within cost budgets. Program systems via laptop computers. Assist in the oversight of project inventory and responsible for vehicle inventory. Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other technicians. Assist in managing job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality. Demonstrate proper operation of equipment and control units to customers and explain proper use and how to respond to any system signals. Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
