Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Service Technician IV in Memphis, TN. In this field-based role you will respond to service calls, troubleshoot complex fire alarm and life safety systems, and perform timely repairs to keep facilities safe and operational.
You will read blueprints, coordinate with customers, and train others while supporting upsell opportunities. A strong focus on safety, documentation, and customer service is required, with on-call duties and occasional travel.

In this field-based role, you will respond to service calls, troubleshoot complex fire alarm and life safety systems, and deliver timely repairs that help customers keep their facilities safe, efficient, and operational. You will serve as a trusted advisor at the point of service, combining technical expertise, clear communication, and strong customer focus to resolve issues and identify solutions.
Take ownership of each service outcome by working safely, accurately, and with integrity on every call. Stay close to the work by listening carefully to the customer, diagnosing quickly, and removing obstacles that delay resolution. Use clear documentation, candor, and problem-solving to improve every day and strengthen the quality of your service. Collaborate with district staff, service resources, and customers as one team to deliver reliable results. Troubleshoot and repair installed systems, including panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement or repair, low-voltage circuit trouble resolution, and system testing. Organize and effectively use technical resources, information, material, and support to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels as part of the service process. Use strong written and verbal communication skills to keep work moving and ensure the customer understands the solution. Complete and submit task-related, activity, productivity, and other required documentation in a timely manner. Be available for on-call and occasional after-hours work based on customer need. Provide practical recommendations and quotes that support facility efficiency and solution delivery.
HIRE HOURLY RANGE: $25.20-$37.79 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
