Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions seeks an experienced Fire Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and program fire and life safety systems. You’ll work with our service team to ensure maximum detector coverage and system integrity while delivering clear customer communication.

The role requires 2–5 years in the field, NFPA 72 knowledge, and the ability to program systems with a laptop. OSHA 10 and NICET I help, with company vehicle and tools provided.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in a repair or systems technician role within Fire Life and Safety.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and Article 760 NFPA 70 electrical code requirements.
• Ability to program and repair fire alarm systems using a laptop computer.
• Read fire system design drawings and demonstrate safe tool use.
• Able to train and develop other Service Technicians; strong organization and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; OSHA 10 Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair fire and life safety systems (conventional, addressable, voice, smoke control, networked).
• Use diagnostic tools to analyze faults and ensure detector coverage after repairs.
• Generate repair reports for NFPA-based customer acceptance and billing.
• Program systems via laptop and verify circuit integrity.
• Assist in managing vehicle inventory and repair tools; support technicians as needed.
• Communicate clearly with customers and team to ensure quality service.

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELLSciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Technician with programming, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our service team, and clients to ensure our critical life safety systems are repaired in an efficient manner to maintain their overall performance. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of system troubleshooting and repair. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations.
