Job summary

YDU JC Air Cond & Ref Inc.- Dubai is looking for a service technician to diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm systems in the Macon and South Georgia areas. This role demands a high level of customer service and involves working with various low voltage electrical systems.

Qualified candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in the field, be able to interpret blueprints and manuals, and possess physical strength to handle equipment. A competitive compensation package is included.

Job description

Location

This position will serve the Macon and South Georgia areas.

Responsibilities

Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center and assess equipment or system malfunctions.

Diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm systems and other building system products at customer sites.

Provide solutions and outcomes as a trusted advisor, helping customers solve building inefficiencies.

Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures using technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices.

Service, troubleshoot, and install various manufacturers’ Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell.

Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software, and product manuals.

Exhibit excellent customer service skills by communicating with district staff and customers, ensuring satisfaction.

Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via communication devices such as smartphones and laptops.

Obtain customer signature upon service completion.

Participate in a scheduled on‑call rotation.

Help train or mentor others in the service team.

Provide recommendations, upsell opportunities, and quotes to ensure facility efficiency.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, multimeter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
  • Physical ability to carry and move equipment up to 50–70 lbs, and work in awkward positions (ladders, scaffolding, ducts, crawl spaces, high lifts up to 40 ft).
  • Capability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • High level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory for timely response.
  • Adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, quick learner.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
  • Ability to pass background and drug test.
  • Retention of any required national, state, or local licenses.

Preferred: NICET Level II certification.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual hourly range: $18–$25. Final rate based on education, experience, and market data.
