Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Inspector in Charleston, SC to perform routine inspections, testing, service and preventative maintenance on Fire and Security product lines and related systems. You will work with low voltage wiring, complete service acknowledgements, and maintain an organized inspection schedule.

The role requires a High School Diploma, a valid driver's license, ability to lift 50–70 lbs, strong troubleshooting skills, and a customer‑service oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire and /or Security Systems experience required.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, etc.
• Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation that may involve weekends to meet customer requirements.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Self-starter with supervision.
• Adherence to safety guidelines.

• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via laptop computer.
• Complete assigned inspections on time.

What You Will Do

• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation that may involve weekends to meet customer requirements.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Self-starter that can work with supervision.
• Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
• Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

Preferred

• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.
• One to three years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems preferred.
• Access Control and CCTV Testing
• NICET certification preferred.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25-$34 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
