Job summary

Fastech Alarms & Telecommunication Services, LLC in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Commercial Low Voltage Service Technician. You will troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial life safety and security systems, including fire alarms, access control, CCTV, and video systems.

Independent work with strong team support is expected. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience, a solid electrical foundation, and a willingness to grow with a family-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing commercial fire alarm, security, access control, or CCTV systems.
• Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and understand system operation.
• Experience with addressable fire alarm systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with NFPA 72 and life safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls.
• Good communication and professional attitude.
• Valid driver's license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial fire alarm systems.
• Diagnose issues with access control systems, door hardware, and related equipment.
• Service IP cameras, NVRs, and video surveillance systems.
• Troubleshoot burglary alarm and intrusion detection systems.
• Perform inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
• Communicate with customers and document service work.

What You'll Be Doing

This isn't a position where you'll be doing the same thing every day.

You'll work on a variety of commercial life safety and security systems, diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and helping customers keep their facilities safe and operational.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing commercial fire alarm systems
• Diagnosing issues with access control systems, door hardware, and associated equipment
• Servicing IP cameras, NVRs, and video surveillance systems
• Troubleshooting commercial burglar alarm and intrusion detection systems
• Performing system inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance
• Working with customers to identify issues and explain recommended repairs
• Documenting service work and communicating with our service department
• Working independently while having the support of an experienced team

We focus on commercial systems. No residential service calls.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who knows their way around low-voltage systems, takes pride in their work, and can think through problems rather than simply swapping parts.

Our ideal candidate has:

• Experience servicing commercial fire alarm, security, access control, or CCTV systems
• Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills
• The ability to read wiring diagrams and understand system operation
• Experience with addressable fire alarm systems
• Familiarity with NFPA 72 and applicable life safety requirements
• The ability to work independently and manage service calls
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude
• A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

NICET certification is a plus, but not required.

You don't need to know every manufacturer or every system we service. If you have a strong technical foundation, a willingness to learn, and the ability to troubleshoot, we're interested in talking with you.

Compensation & Benefits

$25–$35 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and certifications.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift, with overtime opportunities and potential on-call rotation.
