Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience as firefighter or related for Fire Safety Inspector 9.
• 2 years experience for Fire Safety Inspector E10.
• 3 years experience for Fire Safety Inspector 11, including 1 year at E10.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Michigan Fire Inspector certification or NFPA Certified Fire Inspector I.

Responsibilities

• Inspect state facilities, institutions, and businesses for fire code compliance.
• Cover the Lansing region; may assist in other areas as needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable fire safety codes, state laws, rules, and regulations.
