Job Title: Fire Safety Advisor

Trust: Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Shift Pattern: Full time – 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm

Pay: £20.15 per hour

Location: Northern General Hospital S5 7AU and Royal Hallamshire Hospital S10 2JF

THIS IS A TEMPORARY ROLE – initially for 4 months with plans to review.

About the role:

The Fire Safety Advisor will provide efficient, effective, and high-quality Estates information capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory, and NHS requirements, ensuring a safe, economic, effective, and efficient service for all fire matters.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  1. The provision of day-to-day professional guidance, support, and training on all matters related to compliance with fire safety legislation and fire prevention strategies for all Trust freehold and leasehold premises.
  2. Ensure all capital and operational schemes are fully fire safety compliant with current legislation, Codes of Practice, and HTM guidance, and contribute to the commissioning, testing, and witnessing of all completed works.
  3. Ensure fire safety training and awareness across the Trust is fit for purpose and consistent.
  4. Provide specialist fire advice to the Fire and Information Governance Manager or fire safety issues and the Site Operational Managers regarding the development, dissemination, and implementation of the Trust Fire Safety Policy.

Essential criteria:
  • Experience of working in the healthcare sector in a fire safety role.
  • Level 6 or above relevant fire qualification.
  • Knowledge of HTM0503.
  • Confidence in working in a small team.
  • Flexibility to work across 2 sites.
