Job summary

ServiceMaster Restore 4671 - Green Bay is seeking a Fire Restoration Technician to monitor and complete restoration tasks, including drying, demolition, and pack‑out of contents. You will review notes and photos to support insurance reimbursements and explain steps to customers in person.

Responsibilities include loading gear, performing smoke/fire repair, data capture, and ensuring safety. The role requires a high school diploma and valid license, with growth opportunities in the restoration

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in restoration or construction preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Experience with data entry on tablets or mobile devices.
• FSRT and/or OCT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves work orders, loads equipment and arrives at the job site.
• Explain processes and next steps to customers using printed materials.
• Complete assigned jobs per company procedures while maintaining quality.
• Perform fire/smoke damage repair and related tasks including water extraction and pack‑out.
• Ensure equipment and vehicles are properly handled; report malfunctions.
• Inspect jobs after completion and obtain customer signatures for approval.
• Make daily adjustments to the drying plan based on meter readings.
• Communicate customer issues and daily activities with supervisor and staff.
• Prepare documentation and photos for insurance reimbursement.

Position Overview

A successful Fire Restoration Technician monitors, inspects and completes tasks for restoration jobs to ensure completion of drying, demolition, pack‑out of contents and various fire restoration activities. The Fire Restoration Technician prepares and reviews documentation to include notes, photos and documents according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies, as well as explains processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Retrieves work orders, ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on truck needed for job, arrives to work site.
• Explain processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers using printed materials as a guide with or without supervisor
• Completes assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job with urgency
• Performs fire/smoke damage repair and tasks to include water extraction, pack‑out of contents, removing/disposing of non‑salvageable materials, light construction and demolition as directed by supervisor
• Ensures equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled. Reports any equipment malfunction and or damage to supervisor
• Inspects jobs after completion and obtains customer signatures for approval purposes, and requests payments when necessary
• Responsible for making daily adjustments to the drying plan based on meter readings
• Resolves issues with customers, communicates customer issues, daily job activities with supervisor and key company staff
• Prepares documentation and pictures according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies

Job Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience in the restoration or construction industry is preferred, but not required
• Valid Drivers’ License and satisfactory driving record
• Good verbal and written and communication skills
• Good problem solving and customer service skills
• Knowledge of disaster restoration industry
• Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
• Experience with entering data using a tablet or mobile phone
• Report to work on time in a clean, complete uniform
• Read and follow product label usage instructions
• Certifications are preferred, but not required:
  • FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
  • OCT – Odor Control Technician
